Solos has launched the AirGo V smartglasses with ChatGPT to compete with Ray-Ban Meta glasses. These smartglasses have AI features for object recognition and live translation. Besides OpenAI, AirGo Vision also works with Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude models.

AirGo Vision provides AI support through OpenAI’s GPT-4o, helping users identify objects, translate speech and text, and find routes. They come in various colors and offer a camera-free frame option for more privacy, which limits functions to audio support.

AirGo Vision aims to compete seriously with Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses. Recently, Ray-Ban said that their Meta Glasses were the top sellers in 60% of stores across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, even without AI as a main feature. Meta added AI functions to their glasses in Europe recently.

The AirGo Vision can work without a camera, which you can remove to focus on privacy. The battery and sensors are located in the temple and connect to the lenses using USB-C. Users can customize lens strengths.

Kenneth Fan, co-founder of Solos, stressed the importance of user control over privacy settings, allowing users to choose when to use cameras without losing features.

Weighing 42 grams, AirGo Vision enables over 2,500 AI interactions before needing a recharge. Its battery lasts 10 hours for music and 7 hours for calls. The always-on mode reduces the need for a smartphone.

Solos offers two designs: the larger Krypton 1 and the slimmer Krypton 2, with several color options. The glasses are priced at 290 euros, with camera-free frames available for 102 euros.

Solos AirGo Vision provides instant ChatGPT access. The glasses offer visual recognition, translation, and a GPT-4o-powered AI assistant, useful in daily life, though navigation might not always be perfect.
