Nvidia introduced Digits, a small AI supercomputer for your desk. Now, owning a supercomputer is not just a dream.
While Nvidia’s graphics cards grab the main attention, Digits stands out as a remarkable device. This compact computer connects easily to a monitor and keyboard.
The secret to Digits lies in its core. It uses Nvidia’s GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip to deliver 1 petaflop of AI power. With MediaTek’s help, it is energy-efficient, using standard power outlets.
Digits includes 128GB of RAM and up to 4TB of NVMe storage, allowing it to run 200-billion-parameter language models. Nvidia ConnectX lets two Digits manage 405-billion-parameter models.
For those unfamiliar with AI, this means you can run huge language models like ChatGPT 3.5 and Meta’s Llama 3 right at home.
“Digits puts a supercomputer in the hands of every data scientist and student,” says Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s CEO, highlighting a new era in AI.
With Digits, developers can access Nvidia’s extensive AI software library, including development kits, tools, and frameworks from the NGC catalog and Developer portal. They also get the NeMo framework and RAPIDS libraries.
